For business owners
Keep the software your business runs on dependable.
You depend on software every day — the systems your staff and customers rely on. OSSForge keeps the platform underneath it watched, maintained, and able to recover after a problem, so a setback you haven’t thought about doesn’t quietly hurt the business.
Who owns what
We don’t replace your developer or software vendor. We operate the platform their software runs on.
We are not a replacement for your developer, agency, or software vendor — someone still needs to own how the software behaves and fix it when it’s wrong. That can be your own team, a nominated developer or agency, or the vendor who supplies your software. What we add is everything around it: keeping it running, backed up, patched, watched, and recoverable.
Your developer or software vendor owns the software itself. We operate the platform that keeps it dependable, monitored, and recoverable.
In plain terms: your developer or software vendor owns how the software works; we keep the systems it runs on watched, maintained, and able to recover after a problem.
One honest note: if there’s no one at all who owns the software — no in-house team, no developer or agency, no vendor — we’re not the right fit yet. That owner comes first; we operate the platform underneath them.
A two-minute self-check
Ask yourself these ten questions.
Each “no” or “I’m not sure” points to a gap worth closing. You don’t need to act on all of them — but the ones you can’t answer confidently are usually the ones worth a closer look.
If your main application went down, do you know who would respond — and the agreed support window you can rely on, including outside business hours?
If you lost your production system, could you restore it within the time your business can afford to be without it — and has that actually been tested?
Do you know the last time a backup was restored successfully — not just “taken”?
When your developer or software vendor makes an update, is it tested in a safe environment first, or does it go straight to the live system your business runs on?
If you needed to move support to someone else, do you have the access, licences, documentation and—where custom software is involved—source-code rights to make that possible?
Are your servers’ security patches kept current on a defined schedule, with someone accountable for it?
When something breaks, are you alerted — or do you find out when someone can’t work?
Is it clearly written down who looks after each part of your systems, so nothing falls through the cracks?
If an auditor, insurer, or major client asked, could you provide evidence of backups and tested recovery?
Is your recovery plan a documented, tested procedure — or an assumption that the person who set it up still remembers how it works?
More than a couple you couldn’t answer confidently? A reliability assessment can identify the gaps to close — and the foundations that need to be in place first.Request a reliability assessment
What we look after
The unglamorous work that keeps you out of trouble.
- A safe path for updates
Changes are tried in a safe environment before they reach the live system, with an agreed rollback or recovery path if something goes wrong.
- Recovery you’ve actually tested
Backups are checked, and getting back up and running is rehearsed against agreed objectives — not assumed.
- Someone watching
Problems raise an alert, so you’re told rather than finding out when someone can’t work.
- Kept current and patched
Security updates happen on a defined schedule, with someone accountable.
- Evidence, on tap
If an auditor, insurer, or major client asks, there’s a record of backups and tested recovery to show.

Is this you?
A good fit looks like this.
A customer-facing system, or an internal one like ERP, accounting, or inventory.
Your own team, a developer or agency, or a software vendor.
Backups, recovery, patching, and monitoring aren’t as solid as they should be — that’s exactly where we help.
That owner has to come first. We operate the platform underneath them, not in place of them.

We’ll walk through your answers to the ten questions above, look at the software your business depends on, and identify the gaps worth closing — and any foundations that need to be in place first. No jargon required.
We agree the support and escalation arrangements for your environment up front. Automated monitoring and approved recovery actions can continue outside the normal operations window; any human-response commitments are set out in your agreement.
